In this case, when you deconstruct a trading outpost in use, it counts as you robbing the entire caravan. I did not notice him in the 'other creatures' tab, because he is a 'diplomat' and not a 'merchant' like the others. If nothing else, he'll leave when the next dwarven caravan comes in. Dwarf Fortress has a lot of 'features' where a bug caused the game to react in a weird way and the developer just left it in. For some reason the liason is stuck in a treetop. So, liaisons can hang around for a while and socialize, and they can leave. The Titan didn't last long, though, and only managed to sever an arm before being overwhelmed. ![]() Saves the currently highlighted stockpiles settings to a file in your Dwarf Fortress folder. I'd guess 100 "goblins", about the same number of beak dogs, and 40 or so trolls). The search plugin adds search to the Stocks, Animals, Trading. I let the Titan out when the next gobbo siege came (and WHAT at siege, I counted 110 units before the trolls started pouring in. The Titan then went back to the dog and managed to do the destruction act, chased the dog into my secondary entrance tunnel and was caught there (it killed the dog, of course). The Titan woke up and chased him, but thanks to his thick skull, the caravan made it off the map without anyone getting hurt or even upset. Deal with the trade liaison and his questions. Trading is a great way to obtain a variety of useful items in Dwarf Fortress, and players will have the opportunity to engage with the mechanic many times as they build their forts. He left when the caravan left (the Titan still trying to figure out how to get in.), went straight east, and then decided to leave the map mid south. What questions do you guys have that might help me figure out what's happened to keep me from ever seeing a liaison? Ask away and I'll see if I can answer after I have down time later. I've got 215 mostly happy dwarves and huge sums in the wealth tabulations on my z-screen.so I figure I should be able to get a barony and go to town!! I just keep waiting for a dwarven caravan to show up and give me some help (flux stone, weapons, etc.) and an outlet for my creations (gems, precious metals, etc.) but they never show. Note: I'm not really complaining about this as it's presenting some interesting challenges (I have yet to find any flux stone but I'm on a map with like 3+ layers of solid magenetite/bituminous coal and a huge forest.IRON baby!). I've looked at the civilizations screen and I don't appear to be at WAR with the dwarven civ. I DID get liaisons in my first handful of years before an invasion found a flaw in my defense planning and had a huge FUN party with my dwarves.and then slew my two follow up reclaim parties. I get an elven and a human caravan about once a year which is cool but I've not seen a dwarven caravan or liaison in several game years (currently at year 138 and it's been maybe 7-10 years?). It seems like without tweaking world gen parameters any world over, like, 250 years old ends up being packed with necromancy and the many FUN derivatives therein. ![]() ![]() So, I have a fortress that I started shortly after 31.25 was released (that's my current version). I generated a 1100 year old world using advanced settings and this. Hi all, I wanted to pose my situation and see if I've got some kind of novel bug or if there's feature of gameplay I'm missing.
